multiply both sides by (x+2)

x=4(x+2)
distribute
x=4x+8
minus x
0=3x+8
minus 8
-8=3x
divide by 3

(-8)/(3)=x

x=(-8)/(3)

X= -8/3 8 is on top 3 on the bottom
