Can anyone explain/show the process to solving this equation?

multiply both sides by (x+2)

x=4(x+2)
distribute
x=4x+8
minus x
0=3x+8
minus 8
-8=3x
divide by 3

`(-8)/(3)=x`

`x=(-8)/(3)`
