Answer:

You are going to first subsitute the variables. (x and y). We know that 7-5=2 and 5+2=7. And since the variables are right by the numbers, we know it's multiplucation. The only number that doesn't change the 5 and 2 is 1. x and y=1. (5*1 2*1=7.)
