complimentary angles, when added, will equal 90 degrees

a + b = 90
a = b + 30
now we sub
b + 30 + b = 90
2b + 30 = 90
2b = 90 - 30
2b = 60
b = 60/2
b = 30 <=== angle b is 30

a = b + 30
a = 30 + 30
a = 60 <=== angle a is 60
