Step by Step Explanation:

Step 1) You want to split this shape into parts. The easiest may be to split it into 3. The way I did this was by breaking down the 18.5 at the bottom into the 3 parts so that there were 3 horizontal rectangles like in the attached picture

Step 2) You will have to subtract 15 (from the 8 and 7 ft at the top) to get the base value for the middle rectangle. You end up getting 3.5

Step 3) Now to find the height for the second part, we already know the heights for the first and third parts. For the middle, we have to subtract either 4 from 11.5 or 5 from 12.5. Either way, you'll get 7.5

Step 4) Simply multiply the newfound heights and widths for each part. Part 1 is (8 x 11.5 = 92) part 2 is (3.5 x 7.5 = 26.25) part 3 is (12.5 x 7 = 87.5)

Step 5) Now just add together the found areas. 92 + 26.25 + 87.5 = 205.75

Add units at the end and that should be your answer.
