A snowmobile travels in a straight line.The snow-mobile’s initial velocity is +3.0 m/s.

a.
If the snowmobile accelerates at a rate of +0.50m/s2for 7.0s, what is its final velocity? b.
If the snowmobile accelerates at the rate of−0.60m/s2from its initial velocity of+3.0 m/s, how long will it take to reach a complete stop?

v_(f)=v_(i)+at

v_(f)=3.0m/s+(0.50m/s^(2))(7.0s)

v_(f)=3+3.5=6.5m/s


v_(f)=v_(i)+at

t=(v_(f)-v_(i))/(a)

t=(0-3)/(-0.6)

t=5sec

A) 7 x 0.5 = 3.5 +3.0 = 6.5 m/s

B) 3/.6 = 5, it will take 5 seconds to stop
