The nutrition facts label on a food package lists "iron 50%." What does this figure indicate?

The nutrition facts usually contain two things; the nutrition content such as in this; Iron. They will also show the "percent of daily value" or how much toward the average daily value of a nutrient.

The Iron 50% means that the food will give you 50% of the iron you should be gaining from your dietbon a daily bases.
