" / " means divide

2/5 = 0.4
2 1/8......the 2 is the whole number.....1/8 = 0.125....so 2 1/8 = 2.125
33/40 = 0.825
4/33 = 0.12 with a line over the 12 because it is repeating
-6/11 = 0.54 with a line over the 54 because it is repeating
-7 8/45...the 7 is the whole number...8/45 = 0.17 (repeating)....so this one is - 7.17 with a line over the 7 because it is repeating

A number in fraction or mixed number is said to be terminating decimal if denominator among any of the two contains
2^a,\text{or} 5^b,\text{or}2^a * 5^b otherwise it is non terminating Repeating.

1.(2)/(5)=0.4---\text{Terminating}\\\\2.2(1)/(8)=2.125---\text{Terminating}\\\\3.(33)/(40)=0.825---\text{Terminating}

4.(4)/(33)=0.12121.....----\text{N T R}\\\\5.(-6)/(11)=-0.5555.......----\text{NTR}\\\\6.-7(8)/(45)=-7.17777.....---\text{NTR}
