A = C (congruent angles)

Then: 4p+12 = 36

Solve for p

4p = 36 - 12

4p = 24

4p/4 = 24/4

p = 6

Refer the figure

We can see that ∠A and ∠C are opposite angles .

Now using the property of Parallelogram i.e. Opposite angles of Parallelogram are equal

Thus, ∠A = ∠C

⇒(4p + 12)° = 36°

⇒4p = 36-12

⇒4p = 24

⇒p = 24/4

⇒p = 6
