Triangle area formula= bh/2

Blue triangle:
10*12/2= 60

Orange triangle:
8*10/2= 40

Add the values: 40+60= 100 in^2

Final answer: 100 in^2

Answer:

The total area of the two triangles is 100 square inches.

Explanation:

We know that the area of triangle is given by the formula:

Area=(1)/(2)bh

where b is the base of the triangle and h is the height of the triangle.

The triangle which is shaded blue:

Has a base(b)=12 in.

and height(h)=10 in.

Hence, Area of blue triangle is:

Area=(1)/(2)* 12* 10\\\\\\Area=60\ square\ in.

and the Triangle which is shaded orange has base(b)=8 in.

and Height(h)=10 in.

Hence, the area of orange shaded triangle is:

Area=(1)/(2)* 8* 10\\\\\\Area=40\ square\ in.

Hence, the total area of two triangle is:

60+40=100 square inches.
