Hello there!

We, you need to put all the common terms together.

x - 7 = -2x - 5
x + 2x = -5 + 7
3x = 2
x = 2/3
In decimal x = 0.67

I hope that helps!

x-7 - -2x-5

answer is 2/3

X-7 + 2X= -2x-5+2x

3x-7= -5

3x-7+7= -5+7 (getting x alone)

3x=2

divide by 3 to get x

3x/3 =2/3

x=2/3
