It is most nearly correct to say that Elmer's weight is more unusual than his height. His weight is almost two standard deviation from the mean while his height is only one standard deviation from the mean. The weight of Elmer must be one of the outliers in the data set as it is very from the mean of the whole data. The standard deviation of a data set measures the degree of how the data points are spread out from the mean or the average when plotted. Having a low value of this would mean that the values are close to the mean while having a high value of the standard deviation would indicate the the values are spread out.
