Two combines can harvest 320 acres of wheat in a certain amount of time. Assuming all combines work at the same rate, how many acres of wheat can 6 combines harvest in the same amount of time?

2 combines = 320 acres
320/2 = 160 acres per combine
160 * 6 = 960
Answer: 960 acres

Hope this helps!

Answer:

960 acres

Explanation:

Alright so first off we set up a proportion problem since this is a direct variasion problem. (You cannot set up a problem if it is inverse) So

2 combines=320 acres

6 combines=x acres

*cross multiply*

2x=1920

1920 divided by 2 is 960

Therefore,

x=960 acres. (make sure to include the unit)

Cheers!!
