soccer : (12.3 + 13.2 + 12.5 + 11.3 + 14.4) / 5 = 63.7 / 5 = 12.74
track : (12.3 + 11.2 + 11.7 + 12.2 + 13.7) / 5 = 61.1 / 5 = 12.22

difference is : 12.74 - 12.22 = 0.52 <=

Answer:

Hence, the difference in Mean of two teams is:

0.52

Explanation:

Five members of the soccer team and five members of the track team ran the 100-meter dash.

Their time is listed as:

Soccer Track

12.3 12.3

13.2 11.2

12.5 11.7

11.3 12.2

14.4 13.7

The mean of the soccer team is given by:

Mean_1=(12.3+13.2+12.5+11.3+14.4)/(5)\\\\Mean_1=12.74

The mean of track team is given by:

Mean_2=(12.3+11.2+11.7+12.2+13.7)/(5)\\\\Mean_2=(61.1)/(5)\\\\Mean_2=12.22

Hence, the Difference in Mean is:

Mean_1-Mean_2\\\\=12.74-12.22\\\\=0.52

Hence, the difference in Mean of two teams is:

0.52
