An average person would have to consume 4 1/2 cups of fruits and vegetables to meet his or her daily potassium needs.
If you are over 14 years of age (and are not a breastfeeding woman), you'd have to intake 4,700 milligrams of potassium a day. You can find high amounts of potassium in apricots, squash, avocados, broccoli, cabbage, bananas, etc.
