Alana's thinking is most likely based on the availability heuristic. The availability heuristic is where an individual will most likely rely on ideas or examples that will come to his or her mind when he or she is in the midst of evaluating such as an example is when the person is deciding or in other words, performing a decision making process. It could be seen above as Alana thinks of the virus when she exhibits of the symptoms because she has recently saw it on television.
