Point R(5,-3) and point N(9,-4) are on line k. What is the slope of the line passing through these points?

The slope of a line, denoted "m" is:

m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1), where (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) are any two points on the line.

m=(-4--3)/(9-5)

m=-1/4

So the slope is negative one quarter.
