What is one advantage of silently reading a play as opposed to listening to an audio recording?

you can get more out of reading then listening you create your own tone and your own imagery

Answer:

When you read in silence you can take advantage of the input that your own imagination can bring into the reading, adding details, peculiarities, and an understanding that could perhaps be obstructed by listening to somebody else´s interpretation or rendition of the same text. Silent reading also adds a pace that is one´s own as opposed to having to keep up with somebody else´s pace.
