That country was Bosnia.

Austria-Hungary annexed Bosnia-Herzegovina on 6th October 1908, although it already had control over it before, de facto( it had military and civil control over it).

Answer:

Bosnia Herzegovina

Step-by-step explanation:

The Annexation crisis of Bosnia reflects the political opposition and unstability as the taking over by Austria Hungary of the states of Bosnia and Herzegovina on October 1908 that triggered a diplomatic crisis.

During that winter, Serbia saw this as a domination of Slavic territories as they were fomerly ruled by the Ottoman Empire. The treatments changed the treaty o f Berlin. The mobilization of Serbian army took place, and moved to promote a negotiation plan.

Serbia finally accepted this in the 31 st of March 1909, it is know this would lead to further tensions within the region contributing to the settings for the WW1.
