In these lines, the author uses parallelism in order to strengthen the argument. The author lists all the complaints he has against the British government, and all the actions that he believes have been unfair and unjustified. In order to demonstrate this belief, he lists the items using the same structure in each one, which contributes to making the passage more rhythmic, more structure and more accessible, all of which make the passage more persuasive.
