Stamp Act
: Direct Tax on printed
paper
, was only legal paper. Had a stamp on the parchment.
Townshend Act:
Imposed duties on glass, lead,
paper
and tea. Was later repealed except for the tea.

the stamp act was a tax on stamps enforcing colonists to put stamps on any official papers
the townshend acts is a tax on imports to America
