then we can isolate X in the first equation:

now we replace it into the second equation:

1) (45 - Y)150 + 175Y = 7515

2) Y*(175 - 150) + 45*150 = 7515

Y*25 = 7515 - 6750 = 765

Y = 765/25 = 30.6 that we can round up to 31, and then X = 45 - 31 = 14.

so we have 31*175 + 14*150 = 7525

Notice that is impossible to solve equation (2) where X and Y are whole numbers, so the problem may be written incorrectly.
