Explanation:

To calculat ethe surface area of a pyramid you only have to sum of all the areas of the faces and the base.

To calculate the area of the faces of the pyramid you just have to calculate the area of a triangle:


A=(B*H)/(2)=
(8*.7)/(2)= 2.8 ft

You have 4 faces on a square pyramid so the area of one face by the number of faces would be:

2.8 ft* 4= 11.2 ft

To this you just add the area of the base, whis is calculated with the formula to calculate a square´s area:

A= L*L= .7*.7= .49

You just add the area of the base with the area of the base:

At= 11.2 ft+ .49ft= 11.69 ft
