A cab charges $1.50 for the flat fee and $0.50 for each mile. Write and solve an inequality to determine how many miles Sharon can travel if she has $25 to spend.

1.50 + 0.5x < = 25
Subtract 1.50 from both sides.
0.5x = 23.50
Divide both sides by 0.5
x = 23.5/.5
x = 47 miles

I Believe this is what your looking for?

$0.50 + $1.50x ≤ $25; x ≤ 16 miles

$0.50 + $1.50x ≥ $25; x ≥ 16 miles

$1.50 + $0.50x ≤ $25; x ≤ 47 miles

$1.50 + $0.50x ≥ $25; x ≥ 47miles
