This is the concept of probability and statistics. Given that the cube has 6 sides, the probability space will be:
x={1,2,3,4,5,6,}
P(x)=1/6
When the two dice are tossed, the combination that will give us a sum that is multiple of 6 will be:
{1,2},{2,1},{1,1}
probability of obtaining this combination is:
(1/6*1/6)+(1/6*1/6)+(1/6*1/6)
=1/12
The combination that will give us a sum that is multiple of 4 is:
{1,1},{2,2}
Probability of obtaining this is:
(1/6*1/6)+(1/6*1/6)
=1/18
the probability that the sum will be a multiple of 6 or 4 will be:
1/12+1/18
=5/36
