Find the coordinates of the midpoint of the segment whose endpoints are H(6, 4) and K(2, 8).

Answer:

(4, 6)

Explanation:

Midpoint Formula ( X₁ + X₂/2 , Y₁ + Y₂/2 )

Substitute for the x- coordinate = (6+2 / 2)

* add 6 and 2 which gives you 8.

*then divide 8 by 2

8/2=4

Substitute for the y-coordinate = (4+8 / 2)

* add 4 and 8 which gives you 12.

* then divide 12 by 2

12/2=6

Answer: (4,6)

the midpoint formula is ( x + x / 2, y + y / 2)
so....
6+ 2 = 8 / 2 = 4
4 + 8 = 12 / 2 = 6
the midpoint is (4, 6)
