The work is the same as the energy you put into it to compress it (work-energy theorem) This is given by

W= (1)/(2)k x^(2)

We must put compression in meters, x=0.01m, and then

W= (1)/(2)167 (N)/(m) (0.01)^(2) = 0.00835J
