you have to find what 1% is using the information given about jack and then multiply by the remaining percentage of liam's money to give the answer

100 - 75 = 25%
25% = £2
2 divided by 25 = 0.08 (= 1%)

100 - 40 = 60%
0.08 x 60 = 4.8

= £4.80

Answer:

Liam has left £4.80

Explanation:

Jack and Liam each get the same pocket money.

Jack spends 75% of his money and he has left £2.00

That means 25% of the pocket money is left that is £2.00

Let the Pocket money of Jack be 'x'

25% of x = £2

0.25x = 2

x =
(2)/(0.25) = £8.00

The pocket money of Jack is £8.00 and same as Liam's.

Liam spend 40% of his pocket money.

40% of £8.00 = 0.40 × 8 = £3.20

Liam has left = 8.00 - 3.20 = £4.80

Liam has left £4.80
