On a certain map, 1/2 inch represents 75 miles. If the distance on this map is 2 1/4 inches, what is the actual distance between the two towns?

The actual distance between the two towns is 337 1/2 miles. 1/4 in is equal to 37.5 because 75 divided by 2 is 37.5 and half of 1/2 is 1/4. 2 1/4 divided by 1/4 is 9 and 37.5 times 9 is 337.5 or 337 1/2.
