The government has to release mercury into the environment because we can not get rid of mercury. It is released from the burning of fossil fuels, from various natural resources and industrial activities. And, it can not be left at the place of emission because it is very harmful and accumulates in the organisms. Therefore, regulations are made to control the amount and the place of release of mercury.
