Pythagorean theorem: a²+b²=c²

5²+7²=c²
25+49=c²
74=c²
√74=c
c≈8.6
The length of the hypotenuse is about 8.6

According to the Pythagorean Theorem
hypotenuse² = side² + side²
hypotenuse² = 5² + 7²
hypotenuse² = 25 + 49
hypotenuse² = 74
hypotenuse = 8.602325267
