The smaller number = 12

The larger number = 51

Explanations:

Let the larger number be y

Let the smaller number be x

The larger number is 15 more than three times the smaller number

y = 3x + 15.....................................(1)

The sum of the two numbers is 63

x + y = 63.....................................(2)

Substitute equation (1) into equation (2)

x + 3x + 15 = 63

4x + 15 = 63

4x = 63 - 15

4x = 48

x = 48/4

x = 12

Substitute the value of x into equation (1)

y = 3(12) + 15

y = 36 + 15

y = 51

Therefore:

The smaller number = 12

The larger number = 51
