The answer is C. Most researchers now believe that we are who we are because of a combination of nature and nurture.
The nature and nurture debate is one of the oldest in the history of psychology. This debate tries to understand and explain human development and whether it is predisposed in our DNA or given by our environmnet. The nature prespective argues that human behaviour is determined by our genes and mostly inherited; the nurture prespective states that behaviour is mostly influenced by external factors after conception.
Currently it is known and accepted by most psycological perspectives that human development is so complex it can't be reduced to one of those factors only, we are a combination of both our genes and the environment we develop in. However, in this debate, the question that remains is on what proportion each of these factors contribute to our behavior, especially on aspects like personality, cognitive traits and psychopathology.
