Answer:

Mean for 2nd week increased by 6.51 % or by 0.6 value compared to the 1st week.

Explanation:

Money spend in 1st week = 12.48 , 9.50 , 10.25 , 4.99 , 8.59

Total Money Spend in 1st week = 12.78 + 9.50 + 10.25 + 4.99 + 8.59 = $ 46.11

In 2nd week he spend $3 more.

So total Money Spend in 2nd week = 46.11 + 3 = $ 49.11

Mean=(Sum\:of\:observation)/(Total\:number\:of\:observation)

Mean of 1st week =
(46.11)/(5)=9.222

Mean of 2nd week =
(49.11)/(5)=9.822

So, increase in mean from 1st week =
(9.822-9.222)/(9.222)*100=6.51\: %

Therefore, Mean for 2nd week increased by 6.51 % or by 0.6 value compared to the 1st week.
