Joey's sock drawer is unorganized and contains 3 black dress socks, 5 black ankle socks, 7 brown dress socks, and 6 brown ankle socks. What is the probability that Joey will blindly reach into his sock drawer and pull out a sock that is brown or a dress sock?

there are 10 dress socks out of 21 total socks and there are 13 brown socks out of 21 total socks so the ratio would be 16:21, there are only 5 that fit neither category so i just subtracted the 5 from 21 and got 16 :P hope i helped :D

I would estimate about 75%-80% just off the top of my head. set up your problem in a proportion to work it out. on top put the number of socks youre estimating (16) and on bottom the total number of socks (21). you should be able to work the problem out now
