You have the following expression:

2i+(x+yi)=6

in order to determine the value of x + yi, subtract 2i both sides of the previous equation:

\begin{gathered} 2i-2i+(x+yi)=6-2i \\ x+yi=6-2i \end{gathered}

Hence, x+ yi is equal to 6 - 2i
