1st multiply the top equation by -1 to get -3x - y = -17 then add the 2 equations together to get:
4x + y - 3x - y = 18 - 17
x = 1 (simplified down)
Now plug the 1 into either equation
4(1) + y = 18
4 + y = 18
y = 18 - 4 = 14
Your point is (1, 14)
