Two factors of -48 have a difference of 19 the factor with the greater absolute value is positive what is the sum of the factors

1). Two factors of -48 => x * y = -48

=> the absolute values of the two numbers may be:

48 and 1

24 and 2

16 and 3

12 and 4

6 and 8

2). Have a differencie of 19 = > x - y = 19


That makes that the numbers be + 16 and - 3


Because (+16) * (-3) = - 48

And +16 - (-3) = +16 + 3 = 19.


3) The sum of the factors is +16 + (-3) = 16 - 3 = 13.


So the answer is the option C. 13.
