-1 -(7/-1) = 6
-1 -(-7) = 6
6 = 6

7 - (7/7) = 6
7 - 1 = 6
6 = 6

lets solve it
first multiply each term by x :-

x^2 - 7 = 6x
x^2 - 6x - 7 = 0
(x - 7)(x + 1) = 0


x = 7 and x = -1
