You divide by primes in order until you reach a final prime number which will be your last factor... 2 and 3 are not factors, 5 is, then 7 and 7 are. So the prime factorization will look like.

245=5*7*7

Prime factors are defined as prime numbers (numbers that cannot be divided into a smaller quotient by a different number) that multiply up to a given number. An example is 11. 11 cannot be divided into a smaller number unless we divide by 11. With this information, we can solve. Our number is 245. Since our number ends in 5, we can divide by 5 automatically. Divide 245 by 5. 245 / 5 = 49. Our factors are 5 x 49. 49 is not prime, as it can be divided by 7. Divide 49 by 7. 49 / 7 = 7. Our factors are now 5 x 7 x 7. 5 x 7 x 7 is the prime factorization of 245, as we cannot divide into any smaller number. I hope this helps!
