The easiest way to solve this problem is to just move the decimal point to the right one place.

1.25 → 12.5

Your answer should be 12.5

Answer:

Distance between two mountains= 12.5 km

Explanation:

We are given a map scale of 1 inch=10 km

We have to find the distance between two mountains which are 1.25 inch apart in the map

1 inch=10 km

1.25 inch= 1.25×10 km

= 12.5 km

Hence, distance between two mountains is:

12.5 km
