From the information given,

Total number of coins = 250

number of nickels = 50

number of quarters = half the number of nickels

number of quarters = 50/2 = 25

number of dimes = square of 8 = 8^2 = 64

Let p represent the number of pennies. Thus, we have

50 + 25 + 64 + p = 250

139 + p = 250

p = 250 - 139

p = 111

There are 111 pennies

We know that

1 nickel = $0.05

50 nickels = 50 * 0.05 = $2.5

1 quarter = $0.25

25 quarters = 0.25 * 25 = $6.25

1 dime = $0.1

64 dimes = 64 * 0.1 = 6.4

1 penny = 0.01

111 pennies = 111 * 0.01 = 1.11

Thus, the total amount of money is

2.5 + 6.25 + 6.4 + 1.11

= $16.26
