The first thing to do in getting the length of AD is to first pinpoint the coordinates of the two points (A and D).

Since Point A has the lowest - value, Point A is, therefore, the first point (x1,y1) and Point D is the second point (x2, y2).

First point: Point A = x1, y1 = 1, 3

Second point: Point D = x2, y2 = 2, -8

Since we now have the coordinates of the two points, we will now be using the Distance Formula to find the distance between the two points which is also the length of AD.

\text{ Length of AD = Distance = d = }\sqrt[]{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}

We get,

\text{ Length of AD = Distance = d = }\sqrt[]{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}
\text{= }\sqrt[]{(2-1)^2+(-8-3)^2}
\text{= }\sqrt[]{(1)^2+(-11)^2}
\text{= }\sqrt[]{1+121}
\text{ Length of AD = Distance = d = }\sqrt[]{122}

Therefore, the length of AD is letter C.
