Given the following equation of an exponential function , determine the base, b, of the exponential model. Is the base a growth or decay factor? a. b is 1.194; It is a growth factor. b. b is 1.194; It is a decay factor. c. b is 10.5; It is a growth factor. d. b is 10.5; It is a decay factor.

Answer:

b on edge

b is 0.535; It is a decay factor.

its not an answer you put but it marked that answer right

I found the exponential function.

C = 10.5(1.194)^t

The definition of an exponential function is this:

"If b is any number such that b > 0 and b ≠ 1 then an exponential function is a function in the form, f(x) = b^x , where b is called the base and x can be any real number"

Using the description, the answer is a.) B is 1.194 ; it is a growth factor.

B is identified as a growth factor because it is more than 1. If it had been less than 1, it would have been a decay factor.
