Part A: Max rented a motorbike at $465 for 5 days. If he rents the same motorbike for a week, he has to pay a total rent of $625.

Write an equation in the standard form to represent the total rent (y) that Max has to pay for renting the motorbike for x days. (4 points)

Part B: Write the equation obtained in Part A using function notation. (2 points)

Part C: Describe the steps to graph the equation obtained above on the coordinate axes. Mention the labels on the axes and the intervals. (4 points)

For Part A:

Standard form:

Use what you know to figure out the standard form.

Ax + By = c

Let A be the amount he spent so far let C be the total amount he will spend, Let B be the amount he will spend for it.

465x + 160y = 625

//consider this part B.
First figure out the average.

(625-465)/(7-5) = 80

b = 625-80*7

b = 65

Add this to part B.
y = mx + b

y = 80x + 65

Part B:
Function of notation is f(x)

f(x) = 80x + 65 (same thing, just not in mx+b form)

Part C:

There are only two
in the description. (5, 465) and (7, 625).
x is for how many days renting and y is for how much the cost of renting.
