Explanation:

It is clear that a traversal line is passing through two parallel lines.

It is also clear that:

The angle (35+2x)° and 60° are on the outside of the parallel lines and on the opposite side of the traversal. Therefore, (35+2x)° and 60° are Alternate Exterior Angles.

Please remember that Alternate Exterior Angles are congruent, so

35 + 5x = 60°

subtract 35 from both sides

35 + 5x - 35 = 60° - 35

5x = 25

divide both sides by 5

5x/5 = 25/5

x = 5

Therefore, the value of x = 5
