A box contains 50 counters. There are 23 white counters, 19 black counters and other counters. Paul takes at random a single counter from the box.

Work out the probability that he takes a white counter or a black counter.

Work out the probability that Paul does not take a black counter.​

Answer/Step-by-step explanation:

There are 50 containers in total.

an 42 that are out.

That leaves there being 8.

There is 46% of blacks out. and 38% white. together 84%

You are missing 16% which is :

4% which is black and 12% of white.

(25% of 16) (75% of 16)

So he will most likely pick out a white one with a 75% chance.

Paul will not pick black with a 75% of white still being out there.
