3ОООО1 pointA point on a pre-image is at the coordinate (-4, 10). What would be the corresponding image point after a dilation with a scale factor k=1/22(-3.5, 9.5)(-2,5)(-4.5, 10.5)(-8.20)

If P(x, y) is the preimage of a point, then its image after a dilation, when centered at the origin (0, 0), with scale factor k is the point P′(kx, ky).

In this case, k=1/2=0.5 and the point has pre-image coordinates of (-4,10).

Then, the corresponding image point will have the coordinates:

\begin{gathered} kx=0.5\cdot(-4)=-2 \\ ky=0.5\cdot10=5 \end{gathered}

The corresponding image point after a dilation with a scale factor k=1/2 is (-2, 5).
