Hello there.

Question: 4 times the sum of a number and 3 is 6 less than twice the number

Answer: Put it into an equation:
4(x+3) = 2x+6
Expand it:
4x + 12 = 2x + 6
Solve:
2x + 12 = 6
2x = -6
x = -3.

In short, the number is -3.

Hope This Helps You!
