If I have an item for $38.50 and need to take off 30%, how to I get the answer?

Well the answer would be $26.95 because all you do is turn 30 to a fraction which would be .3 then multiply .3 to 26.95 and it will show 30% which would be 11.55 then subtract that by the 38.50 and you get the answer

38.5 x .30 .....30% = to 11.55

38.5 - 11.55 =26.95
